Canelo Alvarez vs. John Ryder In Mexico to be Announced In The Coming Days

The promoter of the show, Eddier Hearn, said that in the next few days it would be confirmed that the contender to the titles held by Canelo would be Ryder, only some details are being fine-tuned.

“Not yet,” Hearn told Metro.co.uk when asked if Canelo vs Ryder is a done deal.

“Saul has announced his next fight will by 6 May in Guadalajara, John Ryder is definitely the front-runner for that.

We are still trying to finalize the contracts for that fight and hopefully you will get an announcement next week. Now we are just working on getting everything over the line.”

“It is a massive fight for John. I really feel like he deserves it, and we are looking forward to giving him the opportunity and to appear on a historic show.”

The fight would take place at Chivas’ Akron Stadium.

One of the questions that was up in the air was where the fight would take place. At first it was said that it would be Chivas’ Akron Stadium, but the Guadalajara team’s board of directors told TUDN that they had not received any request and that the time to organize everything was very short.

Then it became clear that the Jalisco Stadium, where Atlas plays, would be the venue for the fight, but apparently everything has changed.

According to information provided by Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN, the Akron Stadium has once again taken the lead and that will be the site where the boxing event will take place. Pending the official announcement, it can be said that Canelo will face John Ryder on May 6 at the Akron Stadium in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.
