Danfoss opens new factory in Mexico

MEXICO: Danfoss has inaugurated a new 40,000m² compressor, sensor and heat exchanger manufacturing plant at its Monterrey campus.

The project will deliver an estimated annual production capacity of 100,000 HVAC compressor units, 1.6 million pressure sensors and A2L leak detection sensors, and a doubling of capacity for the production of microchannel heat exchangers.

Danfoss Mexico operations began in 1995 with 1,900 employees producing compressors and condensers. Since 1998, the North American market has been served with products manufactured in Mexico and in 2019, supply to America was increased with the introduction of the industrial refrigeration line. Today, it also has production facilities in Reynosa, and Querétaro.

The inauguration also included the opening of a new Oxxo convenience store on the Monterrey campus.

The new store for the Mexican retailer is equipped with Danfoss’ advanced food retail technologies such as intelligent performance monitoring and control solutions.

It serves not only as a functioning convenience store but will also act as a demonstration site for other customers and partners to experience energy efficiency technologies hands-on.

Oxxo is the largest convenience store chain in Mexico and Latin America with more than 22,000 stores.
