Irantzu Diez-Gamboa: Leads Mediapro North America’s Broad Media Planning

Even though Irantzu Diez-Gamboa has just been named CEO of Mediapro North America in August, she has been helping shape and develop the organization for a little over 18 years.

Ms. Diez-Gamboa is now overseeing the operations and subsequent expansion of Mediapro North America’s facilities throughout the US, Mexico and Canada, which includes existing locations in New York, Toronto, Mexico City and Monterrey, and includes South Florida’s largest virtual production LED Wall Facility at 7321 NW 75th St. in Medley.

In partnership with BrandStar, one of South Florida’s largest and most experienced production studios, the 1,000-panel LED wall is capable of providing immersive environments for filming movies, series, TV shows, commercials, music videos and hybrid events and is attracting national and international interests, Ms. Diez-Gamboa said.

The system features an advanced real-time 3D creation tool, allowing real-time shooting while reducing editing and post-production work.

With almost 20 years as one of the industry’s most experienced professionals, Ms. Diez-Gamboa first worked in the finance world for PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC) in London and Madrid.

In 2005, she joined and has served Spain-based Grup MediaPro in numerous executive capacities throughout the US and Europe and most recently was the regional manager for Mediapro US for the past seven years.

A frequent contributor to professional organizations and public speaking, her capabilities within the many facets of media and entertainment as a whole, sports rights management and audiovisual services, have positioned her to lead a team whose mission is to bring Mediapro North America to the next stage of evolution.

Grup Mediapro has had a presence in the US for more than 25 years and boasts a team of 200 broadcast professionals. They currently offer production services out of their studios in Miami for entities such as ESPN, CNN, beIN Sports, HolaTV, Hemisphere Media Group, and CONCACAF.

The organization’s multiple divisions include broadcast and media services, full-service studio production, sports management and innovation (such as virtual reality).

Since settling in Miami, she has become a member of International Women’s Forum, is a founding member of Women Hispanic Executives in Miami and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Miami.

“Our organization is poised for a new stage in its evolution, and I am ready to take it to the next step,” Ms. Diez-Gamboa said, “and I very much look forward to working with our industry-leading team.”
