Honda Civic Hybrid Awarded North America’s Best Car Title 2025

Honda Civic hybrid won the automotive award in North America, North American Car Of The Year (NACOTY) 2025 after being introduced for the first time in May last year.

Thus, this is the fourth victory Civic has won in an award that has been held for more than 30 years.

In addition, the 2025 Civic hybrid also brought Honda to the seventh NACOTY award after previously obtaining the same models in 2006, 2016, and 2022 Then, there was also Ridgeline in 2006 and 2017 and Accord in 2018.

The judges considered that the Civic hybrid has a sporty design, advanced safety performance, and has fun driving characteristics.

The NACOTY event has been held since 1994. The cars included in the nominations will be assessed by 50 professional automotive journalists from the United States (US) and Canada who have worked for independent magazines, television, radio, newspapers, and industrial websites.

For the North American market, the Civic hybrid is equipped with a 2.0 liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine combined with a double electric motor, thus producing 200 hp and 314 Nm of torque power, making it the most powerful Civic non-Type R ever.

The double electric motor system can maximize efficiency without reducing dynamic performance and driving. Civic also has fuel efficiency of up to 50 mpg or about 21.2 km/l.

In addition, the new Civic hybrid has four levels of regenerative braking deceleration available through the voter pedal at the wheel.

The Japanese manufacturer provides hybrid drivers in two variants, namely Sport Hybrid for US$28,750 (Rp469.1 million) and Sport Touring Hybrid with a tag of US$31,750 (Rp518 million).
