German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) today said its order intake for North America has jumped by 350% year-on-year in 2024 following the latest deal for several projects in Canada.
The manufacturer’s turbine sales in North America passed the 1-GW threshold in the past year. “As we ramp up manufacturing at our factory in West Branch, Iowa in 2025, that success is well-poised to continue,” said Manav Sharma, CEO of Division North America of the Nordex Group.
At end-2024, Nordex was contracted to deliver 247 MW of its machines, all in cold climate versions and equipped with an anti-icing system. The 36 units of the N163/6.X turbines are set to power wind farms in the province of Nova Scotia. They will have a nominal capacity of 7 GW and will be mounted on 118-metre tubular steel towers, with deliveries to be carried out in the spring of 2026.
The customers’ names and the names of their wind projects were not disclosed.
