According to Radio MARCA’s recent revelation, Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues is currently in Europe and the agenda of his visit is to have a meeting with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
With a valid contract until 2024, Ancelotti’s future has been the talk of the town of late. For now, everyone is aware of the CBF’s interest in his services and for that, former Real Madrid players Ronaldo and Kaka are playing a key role in the pursuit.
Over the last few weeks, several names including Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho have been brought up as the Italian’s replacement at Real Madrid, but the manager’s entourage has repeatedly insisted that Madrid is where he wants to be.
“If Real Madrid are happy with me then we can continue until 2034,” the manager had said after his side’s 6-0 win over Real Valladolid over the last weekend.
For the moment, Ancelotti is expected to continue at Madrid until the end of the season without a doubt, as the Merengues are still fighting for the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League honour.
“I feel a lot of affection from the president [Florentino Perez], the fans, the players and the atmosphere is very calm around me. We now have two and a half months to try to win two trophies,” the manager had said ahead of the Valladolid game last week.
At the same time, although he admitted that he does not personally know the president of the Brazilian Football Federation, he said he would be “delighted to speak with him” if he wanted to.
So, it will be interesting to see if the meeting between the Brazil federation’s president and Ancelotti does take place and what implications it has on the future of the Italian tactician at Real Madrid.
